Overland Tailor Tuning and Performance

Adv4x4 is proud to offer OTT tunes for your late model Toyota truck in Virginia & parts of West Virginia

The "Overland Torque Tune" is the smoothest custom tune available with specific attention paid to those areas that produce more low and mid-range Torque along with top end performance.

Drivability is number one! We want your truck to be fun to drive again, it shouldn’t feel like you are forcing it up the road but also feel natural while doing so.

Frequently asked Questions

What are the benefits of a tune?

  • You can expect horsepower & torque gains with a more linear and usable power band.

  • The throttle response will be dialed in to your liking with 2 different settings to toggle between.

  • (Toggling throttle settings only applies to models with ECT or Tow/Haul button)

  • The gear hunting most people experience will also be eliminated with a refined and optimized shift pattern designed to improve drivability all while putting the power down to the ground in the most effective way possible.

  • The tune operates within the safe working limits of the truck with drivability in mind so you can still expect the long term reliability you bought a Toyota for 👍🏼

Does my Engine/Trans ECU software need to be updated (Toyota Service Bulletin TSB)?

  • Yes, your truck will need to have the latest Toyota ECU software and we will update it for free.  No need to bribe the dealership.

Will this void my warranty?

  • Just like any other modification it has the chance to void the warranty if it’s proven that the modification was a direct cause of the issue.

  • Out of the thousands of trucks that have been tuned by OTT we have 0 instances of a customer being denied any sort of warranty claim at the dealer.

How long does it take?

  • We can get most customers back on the road in about a half hour

Can my vehicle be tuned back to stock?

  • Yes, it can be returned to stock.

Will this work with Pedal Commander, Banks throttle controller, or other chip device?

  • You will need to have it removed before the tune.

  • The throttle response is directly integrated into the tune itself so you no longer need any of those.

What happens to my fuel milage?

  • Most customers report a slight increase in MPG.

  • This is subjective to many factors such as driving style, terrain, quality of fuel, ambient temperature, added weight (towing)

Do I need to run Premium fuel?

  • No you do not.

  • The ecm is octane learning from the factory. You may run premium if you wish for best performance.

  • Which ever you choose to run we ask you just be consistent.

  • 87 Octane is the minimum recommended by Toyota

  • We recommend fuel from top tier gas stations only. More info on that here

Should I be running an aftermarket cold air intake, does it improve performance?

  • We strongly recommend retaining the factory airbox.

  • Testing on the dyno has proven them to net little to no gains to speak of.

  • If you prefer to run a cold air intake it will need to be properly accounted for in the tune and incurs an additional $50 charge.

Are K&N Oiled filters good?

  • NO. Under no circumstance do we recommend you run an oiled air filter from K&N or other company.

  • The oil residue will coat your Mass Air Flow sensor and allow dust particles to stick to it.

  • This results in a check engine light followed with poor performance

  • A standard paper filter is all you need!

Can I run a Catback exhaust with your tune?

  • Yes you can

  • It will have no change in performance

  • Some people enjoy the rumble though!

  • Whatever you choose to run MUST retain factory emissions equipment

I have removed my catalytic converter/emissions systems, can I get a tune?

  • We do not tune any vehicles with altered emissions systems

Methods of payment?

  • Cash, PayPal, Venmo, any major credit/debit card
